Beijing 2008, Olympic Games

August 2008. From August 8th (at 8:08, day and time especially chosen, as number 8 is considered favorable according to the Chinese tradition) to August 24th, the 29th Edition of the Olympic Games took place in Beijing.

Inside the Ying Tung Natatorium, a wide structure originally built for the Asiatic games in 1990, belonging to the Olympic Sports Centre, Myrtha Pools installed the swimming pool for the water polo matches and the modern pentathlon competitions.

It is a 50x25x3 m RenovAction pool, fitted with removable headwalls, 6 underwater windows, 4 recessed treads and mosaic marking lines. The pool was officially inaugurated on September 15th-16th, 2007, for the first important international competition: the 2007 World Cup of modern pentathlon.
