Piscine de la Ganterie

Poitiers, France

The Ganterie swimming facility in Poitiers is part of a large sports center devoted to both competition and training, with an emphasis on aquatics.
Recent upgrades have positioned it for a bright future in all aspects. While the existing structure of the building has been preserved, the diving well has been converted into a spray park, using the area below it for a new mechanical room and filtration system.
Myrtha Pools provided winning solutions for the renovation of the 50-meter outdoor swimming pool and equipped it with a movable bulkhead which allows the operator to divide the pool according to need, thus allowing multiple activities simultaneously and drastically improving the facility’s utility.
The outdoor pool, open year-round, is heated, and covered at night to avoid heat loss. The deck, meanwhile, is protected by a roof designed by the Bourgueil et Roleau architectural firm. It protects bathers from rain as well as the sun’s hottest hours. The Olympic pool is equipped with Myrtha Track Start blocks – the perfect platform for high achievement, as they are approved for the top levels of national and international competitions.
