35th European Water Polo Championships

Split, Croatia

On the occasion of the 35th European Water Polo Championships in the Spaladium Arena – used during the rest of the year for handball matches and capable of accommodating up to 12 thousand people – two pools have been installed thanks to the unique Myrtha technology, one for official competitions and the other for warm-up.

Some 41 years after first hosting this event, Split returns as the continental capital of water polo for two weeks. A city already sought by tourists from all over the world is also adding to the already strong Balkan tradition in water polo, having transformed the Spaladium Arena into an unforgettable with the Myrtha pools as the stage.

Thanks to Myrtha’s unique modular stainless-steel technology, the function of these two pools didn’t cease with the end of the tournament play. After the event the pools were dismantled and will be reinstalled in permanent public centres in centre in Croatia to allow athletes of various ages to train in adequate spaces and with great performance, according with the overall philosophy of the Croatian water polo federation.
