Two different temperatures in a single swimming pool! Quite the feature for the new swimming pool which opened their doors in January 2018 at the ” Zwembad de Waterlinie,” Aquatic Centre in Culemborg, a municipality in the province of Gheldria, in the Netherlands.
The 25×21 m swimming pool is equipped with a movable floor fitted with a unique flap: a hinged bulkhead that can physically separate the tank into two different and thermally insulated areas. This exciting feature makes it possible to obtain a temperature difference of 2-3 degrees between the two zones.
Not only different temperatures but different depths too.
The movable floor covers the entire pool’s length and allows variations in depth levels according to the needs.
An additional advantage is that it can be installed in small spaces which creates functional and efficient projects, designed to satisfy the needs of the aquatic centre and to host different courses and activities in a single pool at the same time.
To have two different water temperatures in the same space and guarantee higher heating in a portion of the pool, Myrtha Pools changed the placement of the inlet nozzles to allow even in the case of shallow depths, the introduction of water at a higher temperature than the rest of the tank. Without interfering with the swimmers’ performance during competitions, the flap is lowered, and the movable floor is in its lowest position.
