CEM Turó de la Peira
A high-level architectural and sustainability project for all the citizens of Barcelona. The exclusive Myrtha technology, leading to consistent savings in CO2 emissions compared to traditional swimming pool construction systems, has been chosen for the swimming pool of the new Turó de la Peira Sports Center. The eight lane pool is perfect for training and teaching and is well integrated with the natural wooden ceiling and with the windows that ensure natural light. Thanks to the efficiency of the Myrtha pool and the many solutions adopted such as green façades, photovoltaic panels located on the roof and natural ventilation, Turó de la Peira is almost a zero-energy building. “A socially transformative project, re-qualifying a tight neighborhood and giving it a heart. An outstanding use of resources with a sustainable ethos and a magical place to be” this is the quote from the judges at the World Architecture Festival 2019, after Turó de la Peiraas won in the category of the best sport facility.
