Centro Paraolímpico Brasileiro (CPB)

Started in 2013, Centro Paraolimpico São Paulo hosts facilities for as many as 15 different sports and is the largest Paralympic sports centre in Brazil, and certainly one of the best in the world. Centro Paraolimpico São Paulo was created with a very specific purpose: giving pride of place to technology and cutting-edge solutions in a new sporting facility.

The swimming-pools are all by Myrtha Pools, there are six of them placed throughout the centre, and they are all indoor pools and cover most Paralympic swimming events. There is a 50m competitive pool equipped with the Virtual Trainer, an exclusive system with LED strips on the floor designed to monitor the athletes’ training, a 25m training pool, and 4 therapy pools.

Myrtha’s experience did not take long to be needed, in fact this occurred right at the start of the building process.
Myrtha’s representatives instantly noticed that there were problematic structural features in the areas in which the 6 swimming-pools had to be installed which meant adapting the design of the pools there and then, to meet building regulations.

Due to the excellence of Myrtha’s cutting-edge technology as well as the skills and experience of its engineers, the designs were adapted and the pools built by the deadline.
Myrtha certainly fulfilled the Centre’s mandate with new accessories for the therapy pools, such as a special swimming flume system, hydro- massage jets, and a 6-42°C thermal control system, for the most adaptable therapeutic system ever.
